A new study suggests that women are protected by the HPV vaccine, even if their not vaccinated. Through a phenomenon known as “herd immunity”, protection of unvaccinated people occurs when a critical mass of others are vaccinated. Last week, several health organizations issued new cervical cancer screening guidelines that extend the time interval between screening tests for most women.
